Gerry Patrick Hemming
This telephone interview I did with Gerry Hemming happened sometime in 2001. Of the exact date now, I am not certain.
This conversation took place after a President Eisenhower interview had been declassified where Ike had denied that he had authorized anything at all resembling what the CIA had formulated into the fiasco we now know as “The Bay of Pigs.”
General Taylor Maxwell, in his own hand writing, had scratched out what Eisenhower had said in this declassified document. He then wrote the word “sensitive” across it.
This is how my conversation with Hemming began. It quickly evolved into his reportage of his personal accounts and memory of the history of the events in which he participated during the period of February to November in 1960.
Fidel Castro, Raul Castro, Che Guevara and James Angleton are all mentioned by Hemming in this interview.
